The project:

ORBIS delivers a next-generation, integrated satellite and UAV system that will redefine maritime surveillance and coastal security. The system merges spaceborne intelligence with an autonomous, AI-powered aerial platform engineered to meet the stringent operational requirements of European Coast Guard authorities.

The ORBIS UAV platform represents a mature TRL 8 system, engineered for harsh sea environments, featuring vessel-on-board autonomous take-off and landing, waterproof sealing, and marine-grade resilience for uncompromised reliability after sea exposure. Its long-range endurance, embedded processing and ahead-of-the-vessel reconnaissance capabilities enable proactive monitoring far beyond the vessel’s horizon.

Its real-time AI analytics enable onboard detection, classification, and validation of illegal maritime activities, while also supporting Search and Rescue operations through real-time image recognition and geolocation intelligence. ORBIS system will establish a seamless, real-time maritime intelligence network capable of supporting law enforcement, environmental monitoring, and humanitarian operations alike.

This represents a European first, intelligent, and fully integrated sea-operational system that brings space-to-sea coordination to a new technological frontier.
